Accounts that move money or request financing go through identity review first. This page describes the checks the product actually performs.

Identity verification

Before a deposit, a financing application, or an escrow hold, you submit a country, legal name, an identity document, and a selfie. Staff review that submission. Until it is verified, those actions stay locked. A rejection includes a reason and you can submit again when the status allows it.

Countries in the form include the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. United States and Canada applications also ask for an SSN or SIN.

Bank connection

Withdrawals and financing applications require a bank linked through Melio and then confirmed on the verification page. Escrow funding uses the platform balance, so it waits on identity verification rather than on that bank step.

Escrow review

Each funded hold names a merchant and a purpose. Staff can release the funds to that merchant or refund them to the account. We may refuse to release a hold that does not match the account record, that cannot be tied to a real payee, or that conflicts with a verification problem on the account.

Your responsibilities

  • Submit documents that belong to you.
  • Name the real merchant on an escrow and an amount you intend to hold.
  • Do not use the account to move money for someone else or to conceal where funds came from.

These checks sit alongside the Terms of Service. They are the operating rules of this platform. They are not a statement that a particular government license has been issued.
